HISTORY

The San Angelo Gun Club is the founding site of the NBRSA (National Bench Rest Shooters Association)


Varmit for Score Guidelines

This match is open for any rifle factory or custom.
Any barrel, stock, trigger or scope is allowed (except rail type guns).
Sand bags and front rests any variation (one piece rest not allowed).
Wind flags allowed and recommended.
Ammo can be loaded at the range or pre-loaded (shooters preference).
50 rounds minimum required (75-100 recommended).
5 - official Hunter Class targets will be shots at 100 yards.
Each target has one sighter bull and five record bulls (6 bulls).
The shooter may shoot unlimited sighter shots, but may only shoot one round for score at each of the 5 records bulls on the target.
Firing of more than one shot on a record bull will result in a penalty.
(the shooter will take the lesser score of the two or more shots).
After each target (of 6 bulls) the target is scored and that score recorded into the match log.
Five targets will be fired and scored at the 100 yard stage.
A short break (30 minutes) will be taken after the 100 yard stage is completed and the 1st 200 yard target will be posted.
5 – official Hunter Class targets will be shot at 200 yards under the same routine used at 100 yards.
Following the same guidelines (as at 100 yards) the 200 yard stage will be shot and the results recorded into the match log.
Prizes will be awarded to the 100 yard winner (based on highest score).
Prizes will be awarded to the 200 yard winner (based on highest score).

Prizes will be awarded to the shooter with the highest combined 100-200 yard score. X count will be used as a tie breaker.

The shooter may shoot unlimited sighters, but may only shoot 5 shots on the record bull.
All shots on the record bull will be measured across the widest point (center to center) and that number recorded (expressed in thousandths of an inch) into the match log.
5 - official Benchrest targets will be shot at 100 yards and the measurement of each group recorded into the match log.
At the end of the 100 yard stage a short break (30 minutes) will be taken, while the 1st  200 yard target is posted.

All targets fired at 200 yards will be measured and converted to M.O.A. (expressed in thousandths of an inch).
Prizes will be awarded for the smallest 5 shot group from the 100 yard stage.
Prizes will be awarded for the smallest 5 shot group from the 200 yard stage.

Prizes will be awarded to the shooter with the smallest overall average of 5 shot groups fired in the combined 100 and 200 yards stage, referred to as the Grand Aggregate.
